Battery does not come out from under the seat - it comes out on the right hand side - when sitting on the bike.
Remove the tool roll cover
Unscrew the bracket holding the battery in place
Disconnect the battery terminal on the right side
Disconnet the battery terminal on the left side
DO THIS DISCONNECT ONLY IN THIS ORDER OR YOU ARE LIKELY TO SHORT THE BATTERY SENDING SPAKRS FLYING EVERYWHERE
Carefully slip the battery out the right hand side - you may have to wiggle it a bit - and disconnect the battery overflow drain tube.
You can charge it in the frame = but be really careful about making the connections on the left side - again lots of potential for sparks galore.\
Keep the rubber side down

p.s. - the seat comes off with two philips head 10 mm bolts underneath and at the back of the seat on either side - when reinstalling be carefull not to pinch any wires.
